The General Subscription Pass for the 44th Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival (July 10th - 19th, 2025) is available until November 30th, 2024 at the early bird special price of € 649 (Cat 2: € 599).
In 2025, the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival will once again attract numerous first-class artists from all over the world to the mecca of chamber music to test and perform a diverse program together in picturesque surroundings and in an intimate atmosphere at the invitation of Nicolas Altstaedt. Cultural exchange and the promotion of young talent will again be an essential part of the multifaceted festival in 2025. Sir András Schiff presents 3 young pianists from his “Building Bridges” program, festival founder Gidon Kremer plays with the young musicians from his Kremerata Lettonica and the legendary Heinz Holliger looks with great curiosity at the “high-profile new discoveries that Nicolas Altstaedt brings to Lockenhaus every year invites”.
The much sought-after tenor Julian Prégardien will be appearing in Lockenhaus for the first time. Together with pianist Daniel Heide and puppeteer Manuela Linshalm, he presents his project “The Beautiful Müllerin” with Schubert's song cycle supplemented by poems from the “Miller's View” by Felicitas Magdalena Pfaus.
Also appearing for the first time will be the young pianist Alexander Malofeev, about whom Ricardo Chailly judged after the then 14-year-old's performance at La Scala in Milan: "He is more than just a child prodigy: although very young, he not only possesses technical mastery but also musical maturity."
After their acclaimed performances at the 2024 Chamber Music Festival, the young soprano Anna-Lena Elbert and the violinist Maria Wloszczowska, who was recently appointed concertmaster of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, will return to Lockenhaus.
And last but not least, we are of course happy about the return of the popular, top-class “Lockenhaus Family” with Ilya Gringolts, Vilde Frang, Lawrence Power, Olli Mustonen, Alexander Lonquich and the “sound magician among percussionists” Johannes Fischer.
The diverse program from the Pfarrkirche Lockenhaus, the Ritterbrurg Lockenhaus and Köszeg synagogue is rounded off with Overture Concerts and the popular “Ö1 Klassik Treffpunkt” broadcasted live from the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival.

Review Festival 2024
The successful 43rd edition of the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival ended with Sándor Veress' “Orbis tonorum”, brilliantly conducted by the legendary 85-year-old Heinz Holliger.
Over 60 international musicians (list of festival 2024 artists >>>) aged 12-87 such as Sir András Schiff, Gidon Kremer, Vilde Frang, Fazil Say, Heinz Holliger, Anna Lena Elbert, the Kebyart Ensemble and many others followed Nicolas' invitation Altstaedts to make music together in the international mecca of chamber music in Lockenhaus. Around 6,300 enthusiastic visitors experienced 25 top-class events within 10 days in the parish church and Lockenhaus Castle, as well as in the Köszeg synagogue. 8 events were sold out.
