Painting Competition for the students of Lockenhaus School

For this year's festival sujet, a painting competition was announced at the NMS Lockenhaus. The 90 students took part with varied and imaginative pictures, which they created to sound examples from S. Veress's “Orbis Tonorum”.

In each of the 5 classes 1st - 3rd prizes were awarded

Florian Hofer from class 2b was chosen as the overall winner.

On behalf of the entire Chamber Music Festival team, we would like to extend our warmest congratulations and thank all of the students for taking part!

All pictures will be on display from June and during the Chamber Music Festival in Lockenhaus.

Festival bus Vienna - Lockenhaus - Vienna

The festival bus takes you from the Vienna Konzerthaus to directly in front of the Lockenhaus Pfarrkirche.
Places are limited to 8 people per trip!

RIP Franz Xaver Ohnesorg

The Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival mourns the loss of Franz Xaver Ohnesorg, who died unexpectedly on November 14th. For many summers he visited and supported Gidon Kremer and Pastor Herowitsch at the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival in his incomparable way. For his many years of idealistic work for the chamber music festival, Ohnesorg was honored with the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art of the Republic in 1993.

On October 27th of this year, Gidon Kremer and Sir András Schiff played at one of his farewell concerts for his piano festival. We are all the more shocked and stunned to hear the news of his sudden death.

Our condolences and thoughts are with his family!
